Zero new COVID-19 infections
Wamena (ANTARA) – The number of COVID-19 sufferers in Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Province, fell to zero after dozens of patients being treated were declared cured.
Jayawijaya Regent Jhon Richard Banua in Wamena, the capital of Jayawijaya Regency, Monday, said that all 63 patients previously treated had been sent home.
“We thank God that as of Sunday (6/9) the results of the last swab for one patient living in the isolation room turned out to be negative, so we specifically in Jayawijaya today are zero,” he said.
Even though there are no more Jayawijaya COVID-19 patients being treated, the government hopes that the public will remain vigilant by implementing health protocols while on the move.
“People should not feel that they are zero, and finally think that there is no more COVID-19. We must both decide the spread of corona by obeying the existing rules,” he said.
Jhon said prevention needed to be done because even though Jayawijaya had placed medical officers at Sentani Airport in Jayapura Regency to prevent the entry of corona into Jayawijaya, there had not been any prevention on the Trans Papua Jayapura-Yalimo-Jayawijaya route.
“We maintain access to flights, but Yalimo Regency does not protect land access. This is what I hope Yalimo will really protect land access,” he said.
The Jayawijaya government plans to conduct a rapid test on the people living in the downtown area of Jayawijaya city.
“I also express my gratitude to all parties because with us doing a quick test of potential passengers who want to leave Wamena, thank God, to this day the reactive ones are very small. This means that the virus in Jayawijaya has begun to decline,” he said.
We are glad that Jayawijaya regency reached Zero new COVID-19 infections. Keep the good work, stay healthy.
congratulations !
